Perfusionist

Duties and Responsibilities: The type of things the clinical perfusionist operate circulation equipment when its necessary and they replace the patients circulatory or respiratory functions. This is only done when you’re doing heart surgery or similar operations. Perfusionist operate heart-lung machines, they also administrate some types of medication. They also administrate some types of anesthesia. 

Salary: $50,000  

Education: To enter a training program you will need a high school diploma with a background in biology and chemistry to be accepter to the perfusionist training programs. Admissions are given when college student experience or work in respiratory therapy and medical terminology.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why or why not? I don’t think I would want to be one because I wouldn’t be able to do heart surgery or anything of that.
